Can't Sleep, Must Scrap...

Good morning world!  I can't believe I was awake at  four am on this Saturday morning!  I laid in bed until five, hoping that I could go back to sleep, but my creative side was itching to get the day started.  I couldn't stop thinking about all the projects I want to get done and all the things I have done that I'd like to share. My studio at the moment is a total scraptastrophie!!  I think I've been scrapping non-stop (with the exception of basic needs and child rearing) for over a week now!  I can't seem to stop myself.  I'm sure my poor hubby is missing me!  Now that our recent move is behind us and I've been reacquainted with all my scrap goodies, I've dived in head first into as much as I can and I'm loving every minute of it!  My heart has truly missed my passion for paper and glue and I'm making up for about eight months of lost time!  Anyhow, I wanted to share a few of the things that I've been up to.

Cosmo Cricket

This first one is for Cosmo Cricket based on this sketch from their blog with a chance of getting published in Scrapbook Trends. Eeek, that's exciting isn't it!! I chose to scrap an old photo of my Grandmother Alice.  I love the vintage look of the photo, but since it wasn't an original I felt free to scrap with it and even write on the photo with a slick writer.

Sketch1
I chose to turn this sketch around a bit.

This is Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl collection and it is so darn cute.  I used crackle paint on my torn edges for that extra vintage appeal.

The clear buttons went well with the theme without stealing the show from this adorable chipboard.

Crate Paper

Next up is another layout I did for a manufacturer's challenge.  This one is for Crate Paper's March Color Challenge.  The color challenge was to only use yellow, gray, and kraft on your layout with the exception of some white and black thrown in.  You also had to use at least 50% Crate Paper products.  I used materials from their Brook Collection.  I really loved this color combo and the way my layout came together.
For the gray circles, I took inspiration from Crate Paper's chipboard pieces and added the messy stitching and I love how they turned out!
